WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY?

Homeopathy was started in the late 1700s by German physician Samuel Hahnemann and is based on what he described as the law of similars: the idea that a substance capable of causing particular symptoms in a healthy individual will cure similar symptoms in a person with disease.

Homeopathy is the branch of medicine which is based on the principle that disease can be cured by strengthening the body's natural defense mechanism. This is different from conventional medicine, which uses drugs to suppress symptoms.  Homeopathy enhances the body's ability to dispel disease by working with the body's own efforts to regain health.

Specially prepared remedies used in homeopathy contain minute doses of herbs, minerals, or animal products that are diluted and agitated so that only minuscule amount enter the patient's body.   The particular health pattern being treated can and will change and appropriate homeopathic remedies must take all of this into account.

Homeopathy has been used extensively in animals and humans.  It can be used in treating a variety of disease processes including acute and chronic health issues.  When taking the history from the animal's owner, data such as the nature of symptoms, time of occurrence, frequency of symptoms, and the pet’s overall demeanor will be taken into consideration.

Homeopathic remedies are incorporated in our integrative treatments to support the overall healing response and set patients up to have the best possible treatment outcome.

My senior horses and dogs with chronic health problems from lameness to breathing issues/ allergies have greatly benefited from Dr. Linnea's acupuncture and chiro treatments.  As a naturopathic therapist for animals, I am always looking for the most natural, least invasive, and most effective treatments for my animals. I am thrilled to have a DVM in our area offering these services full time. She is dedicated, compassionate, and effective and my animals are always happy to see her.
